Since my birthday was December 24th the family celebrates Christmas on Christmas eve. It's a very special time when all of the family get together and exchange gifts. It's a nice festive evening when everyone comes home. The only sad event is that my mother continues to be quite ill in the hospital.

Everyone remember...today is not only a birthday, but THE birthday!
Times are tough with my mom, because I know she will never be well. The nice thing about it is that she has had a long life, 82 years and up until this past fall she was in relative good health. Now I'm dealing with her decline and it is at times very hard to handle. Today, she got to see her great grandchildren which she enjoyed. This is a part of life and it always hurts to lose the people you love, but in her case it will be for the best. As you know life does go on and now it's time to look forward to 2007. This time of year is always filled with mixed emotions, for me.
