If you do go to VillageFest on Thursday night, I have to warn you: do be prepared to be impressed! (If I lived down there on a permanent basis, I would go EVERY Thursday night - the atmosphere and dynamics are absolutely awesome)!!! Even if you don't buy anything (and it's pretty much impossible not to, even if it is only a taco or crystal) the actual experience itself is worth the effort.
If you like browsing and/or shopping, be sure to take in the College of the Desert Street Fair located in the college parking lot off Monterey Ave. in Palm Desert. It runs every Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free, and the variety and selection of wares and services offered are too numerous and interesting to even try and begin to describe!
