The outlet malls in Hershey and Lancaster Pa. tried something new this season. They opened at midnight and the response was unreal. People waited two hours in their cars just to get into the malls. When they got into the stores some had to wait in line another hour or two to get checked out. The businesses reported that they exceeded their sells goal for Black Friday by 5 am. So while the other stores where just opening, these stores already had them beat. As they say the early bird gets the worm.
As for me I haven't shopped all weekend. I've been shopping for the grandchildren over the last couple of weeks. Today my daughter, her two children and my husband and I went to a Christmas parade. The oldest child got so much candy that he filled his coat pockets all four of them and the hood. They are five and one and a real joy to be around.

We have our first snow here in Yakima Right now about 1 inch. In the mountians above Yakima, Chains are required for driving over the mountian passes. All those who love to ski should be having fun today. For me, I like the sunshine and warmth.
As for Friday & Saturday after Thanksgiving... I had to work. Thanksgiving just goes by too fast We did have a good one. Only six people and a GREAT tasting turkey. It is all gone, so no more fresh turkey sandwiches So to make up for that I cooked up a tasty Prime Rib It was delicious too
Well, I have to go outside and shovel off the walk way. Have a GREAT day!!!

P.S. With the storm system coming down from Alaska today, the Palm Springs Tramway might see some snow! www.pstramway.com
Hope your weather is OK--it is chilly here (60's), and threatening rain a little bit--if we get any, it will be a small amount. We put up the Christmas lights today while the weather is still decent--a couple of times we have put them up while it was blowing hard and cold--BRRR!!!
Have a great week!!
Yes, we have had a bit of weather here in Central Washington. Here in Yakima, we got 3 inches of snow. When it warms up this week, it should melt away. As for the high elevations in the Cascade mountian range, 14+ inches of snow in the last 24 hours sounds about right. In northwestern Washington up on Mt. Baker, they already have over 100+ inches of snow(good for our water suply) at the ski resort. That is the most of any area in the US todate. Just let you know, we are not near that area, we are in Southwest(Central Washington) We are near a place called White Pass elevation 4500 ft.(60 miles north of Yakima) they did get 12 inches more today for all the skiers to have fun.
Enjoy the fun in the warmer sun...I wish I could...
Maybe Santa will send some round trip tickets to Palm Springs!
Well, we had our first rain this morning. Not a lot of measurable rain, probably .10 or so, but enough to make one of my favorite things--raining on the roof while sleeping...made it hard to get going today!!
I knew it would rain...I washed my car yesterday! That's OK--we need the rain, and it was so dirty I had to wash it no matter what!
David--I would love to experience some of that snow, but the operative word here is SOME! As in A VERY LITTLE, just enough to be fun!! HA! Don, how much snow has fallen there so far??
Bounce--have you had a lot of rain??
Do you realize this Friday is DECEMBER 1?!!?! I have done some shopping, but not nearly enough!
Everyone have a great week!
