Jeez, David, you sure know how to get the gastric juices flowing. I have to sit back a bit from the computer when I read things like this...Carolee gets a tad upset if I drool all over the keyboard. As you might expect we consume a fair amount of seafood up here, and quite frankly (and this is probably heresy to steak lovers) I would much prefer a gourmet seafood dinner to a steak! As a matter of fact (and I think I might have mentioned this before), some folks up here eat so much seafood that their stomachs go in and out with the tide!!
So many restaurants and so little time *sigh*.
Don
Cannot wait to see IslandInTheSun's dinner date photo's he took while out for dinner at The Crab Pot!!! I hope he had fun...make sure he post's a reponse to the query of how was it?
Thank you and have a GREAT Day
The restaurant offers many kinds of seafood such as crab, shrimp, mussels, oysters, and scallops. You can order your seafood a la carte but the specialty of the restaurant is the seafood which is served on top of butcher paper right on you table. There are four different kinds of seafood buckets and are available for two or more people. We ordered, "The Alaskan" which had three different kinds of crab, a variety of seafood, boiled corn, and potatoes.
To sum it all up, the seafood was very good and the serving quite generous. I've never eaten so much crab in one sitting. Another thing that's nice is the experience of having the food on the table and having bib's on and just digging in.
Enjoy the pictures below and don't get too hungry.
Thank you for sharing your experience at the Crab Pot... It looks & sounds like you have a fun time. I encourage those who love good 'ol seafood to check it out I will check it out next time we are in Palm Springs...as for now we will have to eat at the original Crab Pot in Seattle...yes owned by the same man...our friend Hal

P.S. If you eat at the Crab Pot, please tell them you heard about them on the www.palmspringsforum.com... Thanks
I have to say that you are missing out some GREAT seafood if you haven't had some good eats at the Crab Pot. We were just at the original resturant in Seattle Washington today. It was fantastic. We chatted with the General Manager about the one in the desert & he said it is doing good. So I have to say that I encourage you to try it out.
PS, we've got snow again coming tomorrow in London, how I which I was in Palm Springs right now, although I suppose I should be grateful, I am off to the Bayahibe in the Dominician Republic in a few weeks for a top up on the old sun tan. .......... Happy days
