I was thinking about going up to a local church here to see their setup--live animals, live people...it's supposed to be a really great depiction of the real Reason for Christmas. I also want to go to Griffith Park to see the Parade of Lights--supposed to be gorgeous, too! (But more secular!)
Did I ever tell ya'll that Jimmy made his "acting debut" (haha) at the age of 4 months when he played baby Jesus at our church?! They had a tiny little play (it was a tiny little church!!), and the crowning moment was when Mary & Joseph came up the aisle and laid him in a manger at the front of the church. He was wearing a blue sleeper and was wrapped in a blanket that was almost the same shade of blue, by coincidence...he slept the whole time...and he was indeed the STAR of the show! HA! Absolutely so precious........what a great memory!
Merry Christmas, ya'll, and BE CAREFUL OUT THERE if you live in the hard-hit areas from the storms!!! Shirley, Suz, etc.--are you guys OK? Don & Carolee, is it hitting you yet? It's cold here too, for us--30 the other morning!!!!!!!!
We are scheduled to get hit with a savage 'nor-easter' starting tomorrow afternoon and continuing into Monday with a substantial snow accumulation, freezing temperatures, and high winds. Most people have Sunday off, but Carolee has to go in for her regular 3 to 11 shift at the nursing home (along with Judy), so no telling when she'll get home - especially if the girls on the night shift can't get in. On the upside, this is the first significant snowfall in years where I won't have to shovel or dig the car out. (I really pity the people who are living in our old house - that 150-foot driveway was a killer)! Man, I can't wait for Carolee to finish her RN course so we can get out of here and into Palm Springs! (BTW Lelsey, thank you very much for the card - it was beautiful!!)
Anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend..
Don
I'm really concerned for all of you having all that snow...Tell Carolee and Judy not to drive if it's too awful. Anyone else out there wanna give us a shout from being snowed/iced in?? Guess we're lucky here--at least it was sunny today, and Jimmy washed his car while shirtless! (I didn't think it was THAT warm, but I know you can work up a sweat doing that.)
All 3 of us are going to the light parade tonight...if we get any good pix, I'll put some up!! Love to all.......XOXO
