Hi all!

I wanted to introduce myself. I grew up in los angeles and can remember many weekends spent in palm desert with my parents; particularly the nights when we would lay outside to look at the brightly lit stars over the desert. Over the past few years I try to take my own family out that way as much as possible. I want to eventually move there. I just have to convince my husband that he wants to and that there are lots of opportunities there. I currently work in compliance at a Credit Union and he works for the school district but is trying to pursue a career as a recording engineer. We have 2 daughters, ages 10 and 13 which means I need to find out information about the school district there in the desert.

I was very excited to come across this forum - everyone seems really friendly and informative. Smile

Anyway, Happy Easter and now I need to book my next stay in Palm Springs!

Carolee and I first visited Palm Springs back in 2004, and promptly fell in love with the Coachella Valley. Like you, we hope to eventually move there - Carolee is taking her RN course, which will hopefully open some doors for her in the medical and health service fields. Me, I'm retired, so I just mosey along for the ride Wink . Being Canadians, it's not quite as easy for us to work and live in the US, but nurses are in demand everywhere, so I don't think that's going to be a big problem.

Anyway, as David has mentioned, we are a laid-back, varied and eclectic bunch here, so I'm sure you will have no problem getting answers to any questions you may want to throw out.
