Today is that day we add the 29th...an extra day to February, so we now have 366 days in this year!
Leap year was started so that the calendar can be corrected/balanced out for orbit displacement of the Earth around the Sun. The day is really 23.56 Hours/Day. To make it easy we have 24 Hours/day, so it was figured that if we add one day every 4 years, excluding the odd & 0 years, we will be able to keep the calendar correct and Spring would be Spring, Summer to be Summer, and so on. If NOT for Leap Year, our Calendar/Seasons would all be messed, and one day Summer or anyother season would not occur in it's proper place/time.
So enjoy that extra day, we always ask for more time, so hear it is!
