My friend Darren was one of the 3 people killed in an avalanche a few weeks ago.
Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
Darren Coffey was one of three skiers killed in avalanches near Mountain High Ski Resort Jan. 25. Coffey was skiing a run known by locals as Stump Alley with two friends when an avalanche rumbled down the hill, missing one skier, burying another up to his waist, and submerging the 32-year-old U.S. Forest Service biologist beneath five feet of snow. Also killed in separate snow slides were Michael McKay, 23, and Christopher Allport, 60........

The SWAT team member was a really nice gentleman and so giving. It's pretty bad when the media people out here knew him and were actually crying on radio & TV over it. Remember to say a prayer for his family, and also for the SWAT member who had his jaw blown apart--he is expected to recover, but will face many, many surgeries as they try to reconstruct his face.
Life is so short...you never know what will happen next...I guess we should really try to live each day like it's our last, 'cause one day, it will be.
Love you guys!
Sorry to hear about your friend. We have had many avalanches here in Washington as our mountain passes are being hammered by HEAVY SNOW in the Cascades. We have over 30 feet in the higher elevations. We to have lost some poeple, last week a person got caught up in an avalanche while snowmobiling & the other was snowboarding up on Steven's Pass.
As for the members of S.W.A.T., well our prayers are with them & their families... We go out to work in the AM and do what ever we do, they go to work in the AM or PM & they might not make it back...Putting their lives on the line to Protect & Serve us...The Public. Thank you for doing you job...to keep the streets safe & the bad guys in jail.
