hello all!

some of the information/questions that i am about to post have also been posted on the introduction section of this forum. i apologoze for this but i figured that i should probly "ask the locals"...

so i am either going to move to pasadena or palm springs. in my mind i am leaning towards palm springs. but it all depends on whether or not the college of the desert would be a good school for me. i have heard nothing but good things about this school, but i do not know much about the photography program, which is what i will be studying. if anyone has any info that might be useful, please do share! while i know that pasadena city college would be a good school, im sure that PS would be a better area for me to do my work..

if it werent for school, i would choose PS hands down...even though ive done nothing more than drive through the town. so here are a couple of question that i have for you locals...

how bad is traffic at its worst?
and
i am a 21 year old student...how do you recommend i find an apartment?
and lastly
what about crime? ive heard that N. PS can have a higher crime rate...is this true? any other/different areas i should avoid living in?

I would just like to say that you can live in Palm Springs for MUCH less than you can in Pasadena.

Compare bad parts of town in both Pasadena and Palm Springs and....well..... I only hear sirens because I live near Desert Regional Hospital.

I like to say, "I live upper-class-white-trash". lol. Rent in my neighborhood is cheap! The only thing missing in front of my place is the pink flamingos (anyone know where to get those?) I must say that everyone in my neighborhood actually has class and initial appearances may just fool you. My place was built in the 40's! I like it SO much! Oh, did I mention I can WALK to PalmCanyon on Thurdsay nights for VillageFest???? !!!!!

You are living in a great location if you live in Palm Springs and can walk to the Palm Springs Village Fest our street fair for both locals and visitors to enjoy.

The only other way to get within walking distance of downtown Palm Springs is to stay in a Palm Springs Hotel or Resort.

There are quit a few hotels in Palm SPrings that are located in downtown. Logic believes there are over 128 Palm Springs resorts and hotels in the entire city however these places have as few as 6 rooms and as many as 500.

Anyways did you all know that ALady hands out PsView.com weather cards featuring of course Logic on them and there are 6 cards in the series.

Also there are over 845 businesses in Palm Springs that are in a type of business dealing with visitors that could carry our PsView.com cards,

Today we have 425 businesses that carry them for visitors to pick up take home reminding them to re-visit Palm Springs and of course hopefully signup for the forum and share with the rest of us.

well it looks like pretty soon ill be joining everyone living in the desert. Cool

nothing is official yet but its in the process. i apply for school in april and then after that everything will happen so fast! come june or july i will be on my way! thanks to everyone for your advice and encouragement. im sure more questions will arise as my arrival gets closer so stay tuned Smile
