So, I have a few questions.  We are looking to rent an apartment/house and I'm wondering which is the best area?  I noticed there are some pretty cheap places in the Palm Spring Villas which I believe is near the tramway?  My plan is to have enough saved to pay for 6 months in advance and then look for a job once we get there.  I have been looking at the classifieds over the past few months and I don't think there will be problems for us.  My husband is great in customer service, golf, etc.... and I have been doing administrative work for 20 years.

Are there any areas I should absolutely avoid?  I know DHS is one of them, but what about any specific areas in palm springs?  Also, what about cat city?
