When I was about 16, one of my friends dared me to yell at some firemen passing by (not on a call, just driving by on the truck), and I took her up on it--leaned out the car window as far as possible without getting decapitated, whooping and waving--well, I got a big TOOT on the airhorn and a truck full of smiling cuties!!!!!!!
Please remember, I was 16, slender, waist-length hair...those were the days!!!!!!!!
I'm married to a volunteer fireman who has been doing this for the past thirty plus years. When we visited PS the other month we had to visit a firehouse. It's a brotherhood of people dedicated to serving.
