Lesley..as you point out, a good artificial tree will pay for itself in 5 years or less. Carolee got a really good buy on ours. Apparently, the original price was $269, but the box was mixed in with the trees valued at $159, and was tagged as such. Being the great little shopper that she is, she came across this little gem. Although the tagged price was $159, at the checkout the UPC label read $269. Happily, Carolee's powers of persuasion carried the day, and management agreed to let her have it at the lower price. This still didn't completely quell her rebelliousness at having an artificial tree this year, but when Carolee gets a real shopping bargain, all is right with the world....at least for a little while
Take care, everyone
Don
Fortunately, we have the 2008 PS dinner to look forward to (yeah, we're definitely going to be there...barring unforeseen circumstances) so there is aways at least that ray of light at the end of the tunnel. (Carolee has made me stop looking at the pictures of the 2007 meal options posted here because I keep harping about the lousy meals we had in 'that other place') (Of couse the fact that I keep reminding her that it wasn't my idea to go there in the first place may have something to do with it, also).
Anyway, have a great week everyone, and have a drink by the pool for us,
It is COLD here tonight--well, you know, cold for L.A...like about 50 right now, and windy--it got into the 30s last night. At least it feels like Christmas, without all the snow and ice!!
Our bunny Pixie is trying to single-handedly (make that single-pawedly) dismantle our tree. She has always been deathly afraid of it, but now she thinks it's hers! Gotta keep an eye on her every moment she's in there with it.
Everyone STAY WARM, and Don, give Carolee a big hug & kiss for me--and one for you, too!
