In an article in today's (07/15/07) The Desert Sun paper, it says more then rich & famous, Coachella Valley thrives on the business of agriculture. The valley produced a little over $505(2005) million dollars of fruits & vegetables. Grapes, Dates, Citrus, Peppers, Corn, Cotton, Avocados, Strawberries, Aritchokes, Beans, Carrots, Peaches, Tomatoes, Grains and much more... That is a lot of produce, jobs, and payroll. Just one more industry that keeps the wheels turning. Amazing this can happen in the desert. But thanks to having a hugh underground water supply left over from the last ice age and then manmade water system from the Colorado River, the Coachella Valley can be what it is today.
