For what it's worth, we have stayed at both Marroitt's Desert Springs Villa and Marriott's Shadow Ridge. We found both locations to be very good, although if we had to state a preference, it would have to be the Desert Springs Villa. (It seemed to have a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere).
Hope this helps a bit,
Don
I have some info for you on these places. I know a couple of them, and my sister has had some experience with the timeshares down there, so I'll give you the info I know...
Any I don't mention, we don't know anything about.
Desert Breezes--My sister said they were lovely about 10 years ago--she has no idea about now, but they were great then!
Vista Mirage--LOVELY. REALLY NICE. She says it's like having your own condo that you're actually living in, full time...really, really nice!!
Desert Springs--OK
Monarch (both)--no
Palm Springs Villas--OK
Plaza--She and I stayed there last fall when we went to the PSView Dinner. She'd stayed there before, and said it had really gotten run down. It was clean and acceptable, but nothing special; of course, we weren't in the room much 'cause we were out and about, so it didn't matter, but it was just fair.
Sun Dunes--no
Oasis--OK, kinda in need of a facelift
Mission Hills--NICE
Hope this helps. You might try looking these places up on Expedia.com or travelocity.com or some of those places; sometimes they have ratings and photos. GOOD LUCK!
Suzq, hope you find the perfect place, so you can enjoy the perfect place...Palm Springs

Glad to help where I can...I think I forgot to mention the Lawrence Welk place in Cathedral City...that is FANTASTIC. In fact, my sister is looking into getting a timeshare there...they are BEAUTIFUL!
Hope everyone is good there and the colds are better...talk to ya soon! Hey everyone...6 months from this weekend is the 2nd annual dinner...BE THERE OR BE YOU-KNOW-WHAT!!!
