I was reading today that the City Govt. of Desert Hot Springs is in a race to beat Palm Springs to the punch in annexing 4000 acres of land west of PS, on the southern border of DHS and in the boundries of Interstate 10. PS made a failed attempt last week at a county meeting to get the job done. But asked Riverside County Commisioners to give them more time so they can annex the land the right way and within legal limits. According to The Desert Sun, majority of the residents in area in question want to be part of Palm Springs and not DHS. This is due to emergency response time of DHS and current infighting within the DHS City Government.
